Alustamine¶
To access the OpenPGP smart card of the Nitrokey, install the package libccid. On Debian/Ubuntu based Distributions type in terminal: .. code-block:: bash
$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install libccid
Important: Once you plug in the Nitrokey, your computer will start the Keyboard Setup Assistant. Don’t run through this assistant but exit it right away.
Ühendage oma Nitrokey arvutiga ja kinnitage kõik dialoogid, et USB-kiipkaardi seadme draiver paigalduks peaaegu automaatselt.
Märkus
Windows ei pruugi paigaldada lisaseadme draiverit kiipkaardi jaoks. Seda hoiatust on ohutu ignoreerida.

Download and start the Nitrokey App. Perhaps you want to store it on the unencrypted partition of your Nitrokey Storage. There won’t open a window, but an icon appears in the system tray (see screenshot below). Please right-click on this icon to use all the options of the App.
Open the About window from Nitrokey App’s menu and check if you have the latest firmware installed. If it’s not the latest, please update.
Kasutage Nitrokey rakendust, et muuta vaikimisi kasutaja PIN-koodi (vaikimisi: 123456) ja administraatori PIN-koodi (vaikimisi: 12345678) oma valikute järgi.
Teie Nitrokey on nüüd kasutusvalmis.
Märkus
Mõne MacOS-i versiooni jaoks on vaja paigaldada kohandatud ccid draiver (teavet vt ` siin <https://ludovicrousseau.blogspot.com/2016/04/os-x-el-capitan-and-ccid-driver-upgrades.html>`__), kuid üldiselt peaks MacOS-is olema see draiver juba olemas.
Paljude kirjeldatud kasutusjuhtumite puhul on vajalik, et seadmesse oleks paigaldatud kas OpenPGP- või S/MIME-võtmed (vt allpool).
Võtme loomine OpenPGP või S/MIME abil¶
E-posti krüpteerimiseks on kaks laialdaselt kasutatavat standardit. Kui OpenPGP/GnuPG on populaarne eraisikute seas, siis S/MIME/x.509 on enamasti kasutusel ettevõtetes. Kui te ei ole kindel, kumba valida, tuleks kasutada OpenPGP-d.
