Firmware-update met Qubes OS

Deze handleiding beschrijft hoe je de firmware van Nitrokey 3 kunt bijwerken met nitropy in Qubes OS.

Please read the general firmware update instructions before! Since for specifc versions there are limitations regarding what data is possible to migrate to the new version.

Setup

Installeer nitropy in een app VM naar keuze volgens de installatie-instructies.

Hoe bij te werken

Belangrijk

Koppel de Nitrokey 3 nooit los en breek het proces tijdens het updaten nooit af, omdat je apparaat dan waarschijnlijk onbruikbaar wordt!

  1. Voer nitropy nk3 reboot --bootloader uit in app VM.

  2. Eenmaal geïnstrueerd door nitropy raak het apparaat aan om de bootloader te activeren.

  3. This will detach the Nitrokey from the app VM, and the bootloader will apear in sys-usb.

  4. Attach the bootloader to the app VM.

  5. Run nitropy nk3 update and follow the instructions.

  6. During the finalization the Nitrokey will be detached. Re-attach the Nitrokey back to th app VM to finish the update.

In geval van fouten, gelieve de logs van /tmp directory te nemen (/tmp/nitropy.log.*).
